Ruth Stuart Burroughs

Ruth has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Central Michigan University, studying with Roger Rehm and a Graduate Degree from Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Joseph Robinson, principal oboist of the New York Philharmonic. After completing her education, she performed with the Mexico City Philharmonic. She spent many summers performing around the world in Spoleto, Italy, in Graz, Austria and in the former Soviet Union. Currently she has performed with the Monterey Symphony on English horn and oboe since 1995. Currently and plays 2nd Oboe/English horn with the Sacramento Philharmonic, Opera and Ballet. She has performed with most of the Bay Area orchestras including the San Francisco Symphony and Ballet. She also maintains a full teaching studio and she feels privileged to be a part of the music world and enjoys enriching the lives of her two young daughters with her music.

David Granger

David Granger received his Bachelor of Music in 1973 and his Master of Music in 1975 from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Mr. Granger was principal bassoonist of the Sacramento Symphony from 1981 until 1996. In 1983 he began teaching at the University of California, Davis, and was coordinator of the music department's student chamber music program from 1985 to 2011. Mr. Granger works as a freelance musician performing in orchestras throughout northern California. He currently holds positions as principal bassoonist of the Sacramento Philharmonic, Modesto and Fremont Symphonies, and is a member of the Oakland East Bay and the Marin Symphonies. He joined the faculty of the University of California, Berkeley, in 2000. Mr. Granger attended Indiana University's Early Music Institute and received a Performer Diploma in baroque bassoon in 2004.

Ernie Mansfield

Ernie Mansfield studied classical flute, piano, and music composition at Interlochen Arts Academy, Oberlin Conservatory, and University of Illinois. Entering the professional music world at a young age, he became a multi-instrumentalist, learning saxophone, clarinet, guitar, and other instruments. He toured in Europe and the US with jazz and rock groups before settling in the San Francisco Bay.

For over 25 years, he worked with major music publishers, preparing teaching and educational methods. These included Kjos Music, Sher Music, Thomson Learning, and others. He also worked as an instructor and music coach for Cazadero Camps, Oakland East Bay Symphony, and Jazz Camp West.

He has been teaching private lessons full time for the last 15 years. He teaches Piano, Guitar, Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone. He teaches beginning to intermediate level students of all ages on all these instruments, and up to advanced level on Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Theory, and Improvisation.

Laura Reynolds

Laura Reynolds is an active chamber and orchestral performer throughout Northern California. Principal oboist with the Santa Rosa and California Symphonies, and English horn with Marin Symphony, Ms. Reynolds is additionally a member of the wind trio Trois Bois and was a founding member of Citywinds, a San Francisco woodwind quintet dedicated to contemporary repertoire. She is a past participant in the Bach Aria Festival and Institute at Stonybrook, Carmel Bach Festival and Sun Valley Music Festival and currently a member of the applied faculty of Sonoma State University and the Pre-College and Extension Divisions at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where her principal teachers were Harry Sargous and William Bennett.
